We can understand as information all content or data valuable to an individual / organization, which consists of any content with capacity for storage or transfer, that serves a certain purpose and that is of utility to the human being.
Currently, digital information is one of the major products of our era and needs to be conveniently protected.
The security of certain information may be affected by a number of factors, such as the behavioral and user factors, the environment / infrastructure it is in, and people who have the goal of stealing, destroying or modifying this information.
Confidentiality, availability and integrity are some of the basic characteristics of information security.
- Confidentiality - It concerns the inaccessibility of information, which can not be disclosed to an unauthorized user, entity or process;
- Integrity - The information should not be altered or deleted without authorization;
- Availability - Access to system / machine services for users or authorized entities.
Any vulnerability of a system or computer can represent possibilities of third-party attack point. This type of security is not just for computer systems, as we imagine. In addition to also involving electronic information and storage systems, this type of security also applies to many other aspects and ways of protecting, monitoring and taking care of data.
